The Hallow by Samaritan House is a licensed therapeutic group home in the City of Virginia Beach for female youth ages 11-17 years old who have experienced sexual exploitation and trafficking.
Admission to The Hallow is voluntary and requires consent from both the youth and their legal guardian
Admission Criteria
Admission criteria is reviewed on an individual basis.
Minors who are eligible for the residential program must meet the following criteria:
- Be a female aged 11-17 years old
- Be affected by sexual exploitation or trafficking
- Have a mental health diagnosis; can be assessed at entrance
- If misusing substances, have been medically detoxed
- Are not a physical threat to themselves or others
- Are not actively psychotic, suicidal, or homicidal
- Do not have a history of fire setting
- Have an IQ above 70
Admission Process
Upon admission, each resident receives a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by a licensed clinician to evaluate any mental health conditions. An Individual Service Plan (ISP) is developed by residential staff in collaboration with the resident and treatment team.
